I love you all the way to the tippity top!
One of our favorite books is Guess How Much I Love You, by Sam McBratney, in which Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare try to out-do one another in the hugeness of their love.
“I love you all the way up to my toes!”
“I love you all the way down to the river!”
“I love you all the way up to the moon!”
My kids put a new twist on it, though, by declaring, “I REALLY WANT THAT PIECE OF CANDY ALL THE WAY UP TO THE MOON!”
Maybe I’ll try to set their candy love a little lower, like to the top of the Empire State Building.
(I’ll still love them up to the moon…and back).
What are some favorite children’s books in your house?

Russell the Sheep is a big hit at our house, as is Splat the Cat, also written by Rob Scotton.
Illustrations are probably more important to me than story line, although I’m picky about that, too.
The Bear Wants More books are also popular with us. Again, great illustrations.
One of my favs as a kid was Goodnight Moon. I also really love Harry The Dirty Dog by Gene Zion. What can I say…I love dirt!
My daughter enjoys making me read Goodnight Moon over and over. She’s also a big fan on Grandma’s Are For Giving Kisses. My personal favorite is the Belly Button Book.
